MAYOR CAITLIN DONOVAN
Mayor Caitlin Donovan stands up for Belmar and puts residents first.
- Serves on Environmental Commission, Harbor Commission and Tourism Committee
- Leads the fight against Verizon’s proposed 20 towers on Ocean Ave
- Created the Silver Lake Committee, securing $1.5M in funding through federal, state, and local partnerships
- Collaborates with neighboring towns on shared initiatives
- Hosted three town halls and writes a community newsletter
- Advocates for fiscal responsibility at the Marina
- Lead project to renovate softball field on 13th ave
- Member of the St. Rose Parish Council & board of TriShore Little League, where she also coaches
- She and her husband David have three children at Belmar Elementary School
JOHANNA ROPER-ROBINSON
Johanna Roper-Robinson is a lifelong resident with decades of experience advocating for all residents, from students to seniors.
- Former Main Street business owner.
- Serves on the Belmar Public Library Board of Trustees for over 10 years, overseeing budgeting, programming, and construction projects.
- Member of the Belmar Planning Board
- Served as the 1st Vice President and Education Chair of the Belmar Woman’s Club
- Former VP of the Belmar Elementary PTO
- Commissioner on the Belmar Housing Authority, where she advocates on behalf of its senior residents
Leading Belmar Forward
Mayor Caitlin Donovan and Council candidate Johanna Roper-Robinson are committed to providing experienced leadership, real solutions, and a vision that keeps Belmar moving forward.
Mayor Donovan was unanimously appointed Mayor in July 2026 after serving on the Borough Council, where she championed infrastructure improvements, environmental restoration, support for local businesses, and long-term planning. She has helped secure more than $1.5 million for flood prevention and restoration projects, strengthened regional partnerships, and led efforts to improve Belmar's parks, roads, and public spaces.
A lifelong Belmar resident, Johanna Roper-Robinson is a former Main Street business owner and dedicated community leader. She has served on the Belmar Public Library Board of Trustees for more than a decade, the Planning Board, the Belmar Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, and the Belmar Woman's Club, where she has helped raise thousands of dollars in scholarships for local students.
Together, they are focused on protecting Belmar's character, strengthening our community, and building a brighter future for everyone.
